For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, Predictchart is the Data Fiduciary and you, the user, are the Data Principal.

2. What data we collect

Account data: your full name, email address, mobile number, and a password. These are needed to create and secure your account.

Birth chart data: your date of birth, exact time of birth, and place of birth. These are required to generate your Vedic birth chart and are considered personal data under this policy.

Consultation data: the questions you ask, the notes your astrologer writes, and the predictions made in your session. This data is used to generate your prediction tracking score and to improve the service.

Payment data: the billing name, billing address, and partial card or UPI details shared by our payment gateway. Predictchart does not store your full card number, CVV, or UPI PIN. Full card details are handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant gateways such as PayU and Razorpay.

Technical data: device type, browser type, IP address, operating system, and anonymised usage analytics. This is used for security, fraud prevention, and improving the product.

3. How we use your data

To create your Vedic birth chart and deliver the consultation you booked.

To process payments and issue digital invoices.

To log predictions made during your sessions and calculate astrologer accuracy scores that help other users make informed choices.

To send you transactional emails including booking confirmations, reminders, invoices, and account notices.

To send you optional marketing emails about new features and offers. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

To detect fraud, prevent abuse, and protect Predictchart and its users.

To comply with Indian legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

4. Legal basis for processing

Predictchart processes your personal data on the following lawful grounds under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023: your explicit consent at the time of account creation and booking, the necessity to perform the consultation you paid for, compliance with our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in running and improving a safe marketplace.

5. Who we share your data with

Verified astrologers: when you book a session, your first name and birth details are shared with the astrologer delivering your reading. No other contact information is shared unless you choose to provide it.

Payment gateways: PayU and Razorpay receive the transaction data required to process your payment under their own privacy policies.

Astrology engine: Prokerala is used to compute Vedic chart calculations. Birth details are sent over an encrypted channel to generate your chart and are not stored by Prokerala beyond computation.

Email and communications: ConvertKit and similar tools send you transactional and marketing emails on our behalf.

Infrastructure: Cloudflare provides security, caching, and hosting. It may process limited technical data as described in its own privacy policy.

Legal authorities: we may disclose data when required by a valid legal request from an Indian regulatory or law enforcement authority.

Predictchart does not sell your personal data. Predictchart does not share your data with advertisers for targeting.

6. Data retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within thirty days of the request, except where we are required to retain records for tax or legal compliance.

Payment records are retained for a minimum of eight years to comply with Indian tax law.

Consultation transcripts and prediction logs are retained for up to five years to support the prediction accuracy system. You may request deletion of your own transcripts at any time.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you.

You have the right to correct inaccurate data, including your birth details if you provided them wrongly.

You have the right to request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.

You have the right to withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

You have the right to nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, as permitted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

You have the right to file a grievance with our Grievance Officer or with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Security

Predictchart applies industry-standard security controls including encryption of data in transit using TLS, encrypted storage of sensitive fields, access controls, audit logging, and regular security reviews. We host critical infrastructure on Cloudflare which provides DDoS protection and web application firewall capabilities.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India within the timelines required by law.

9. Cookies and tracking

Predictchart uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your session preferences. We also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how our site is used in aggregate. We do not use third party advertising cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the platform from functioning correctly.

10. Children

Predictchart is intended for users aged eighteen and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of eighteen. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact dimpysharmausay@gmail.com so we can verify and remove the account.

11. International transfers

Most Predictchart data is processed on servers located in India or in regions that offer equivalent legal protections. Some third party processors may process limited data outside India under safeguards permitted by Indian law.

12. Grievance officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, Predictchart has appointed a Grievance Officer for privacy-related complaints.
